আকাঞ্জি প্রসঙ্গে পেপ গুয়ার্দিওলা বলেছেন, "ও আমাদের সঙ্গে দেড় দিনের মতো অনুশীলন করেছে। বরুসিয়া ডর্টমুন্ডের হয়ে খেলার সময় ওর যে অভিজ্ঞতা হয়েছিল সেটা মাঠে প্রতিফলিত হয়েছে। আইমেরিকের মতো কিছু গুণ ওর মধ্যে রয়েছে।"
